When students enter The 412 Lounge, they feel like they've entered a luxury suite at Oracle Park. The design is meant to make them feel valued and a little bit spoiled. They get their own beverage bar and treats, and the space is just simply cool. The design of the program is to help them get comfortable taking their faith into a more adult, reflective zone that younger brains are quite ready for. Engaging materials and group discussion help our students feel increasingly confident to own their faith, knowing that this process lasts a lifetime. Our goal in our The 412 Lounge (Middle School) is to provide a safe, fun, engaging experience where they have a great time learning about how to live life with a faith that teaches that God's primary characteristic is love. We think CrossWalk's theological perspective aligns with experience and reality. It plays well with science. It addresses the problem of pain very well. It encourages questions. It expects doubt. It doesn't force things like the Bible or doctrine to be perfect simply because the tradition says it must be. It fosters a life based on love where we love others and ourselves, which is a reflection of our love of God. We think this approach provides a foundation for a lifelong faith that will withstand the test of time, ongoing education, scientific discovery, and reason. Oh, and right across the hall is our rec room, complete with air hockey, foosball, table tennis, and a basketball game.
